The Garden of Enchantment Parent Toddler Group pays particular focus to the development of the child and the role of parent, which can then be directly transferred back into family life. A relaxed environment is created, which gives a feeling of warmth and calmness that provides a "home away from home" experience. Some of the unique features of the Parent Toddler Group are the focus on rhythm and structure. The morning will begin with a magical and wondrous circle time. The children will then go in to undirected free play while the parents sit at our large table making a craft while keeping a loving eye on their child. After inside free play the children will wash their hands and sit together to have an organic snack. After snack the children will go out side for play time while the teacher gets ready for a puppet show. The children will then be called in with a song and they will see a puppet show, with all handmade puppets. After story the children will gather for a goodbye circle and then walk under a rainbow bridge (made of silk) while singing a goodbye song.
Other important qualities of The Garden of Enchantment Parent Toddler Group are the importance given to natural toys, organic food and the crafts that the parents will make. All crafts are made from natural materials. This group is a place for parents to be with their children without being distracted by household responsibilities, a place to compare notes with other parents and a place to form lasting friendships. The Garden of Enchantment aims to provide a joyful, stimulating, and artistic environment where parent and child may spend many enjoyable hours together. An atmosphere of veneration and reverence is cultivated to nurture our young participants who vary in age from 1- 3yrs 6 months. The teachers are endeavoring to lay the foundation for a secure, self-confident, sensitive, creative individual for children of this age. This is a step toward true personal freedom for the future. "Reverence, enthusiasm, and a sense of guardianship, these three are actually the panacea, the magical remedy, in the soul of the educator and teacher" - Rudolf Steiner
