The Teachers

devana cameDevana Came is the founder and lead teacher of The Garden of Enchantment. This kindergarten is the culmination of a dream and years of experience working toward its creation. From September 2000 through June 2003, Devana worked in the kindergarten and as a teacher in the parent/toddler program at the Waldorf School of Orange County. She graduated from Rudolf Steiner College's Early Childhood Program in August 2003. After graduation, she created the Parent/Toddler program at the Pasadena Waldorf School. During Devana’s time as a teacher at the Pasadena Waldorf School she became pregnant with her 2nd child. Shortly before the birth to her second child, Devana became a stay-at-home mama. In 2009 Devana helped a group of mothers in Orange County start a parent/toddler program, “Waldorf in the Woods”.

Devana grew up in a home living the Waldorf philosophy, and she now has two beautiful children—Daniela (13) and Nalijah (5). In 2008 she embarked upon an endeavor to create a Waldorf Kindergarten for her son, since one did not exist in California's Inland Empire. Devana is deeply devoted to the essential work of providing a loving, healthy, and nurturing alternative to the media bombardment so prevalent outside the Waldorf setting. It is vital to offer this alternative early and to educate parents as to its benefits. It is her hope that, through what is experienced at The Garden of Enchantment, parents will take this soul nourishment into their home and family life. Devana has been effective in working with and educating parents as well as their precious little ones and feels great satisfaction when sharing herself and all that she has learned to honor and preserve the innocence of children.
