“I am writing this letter to give my highest recommendation for Devana Came. I attended three terms of play group with Devana at the Waldorf School of Orange County in Costa Mesa, Ca with my daughter. Little did I realize that I would be as much a student as my two year old daughter. During my time with Devana, I was transformed both as a parent and a believer in the Waldorf philosophy of education. Not only was Devana wonderful for the parents, but she was also wonderful for the children. Her puppet shows were extraordinary. We believed that the leaf she held was really a tree. A candle really was the sun. She also helped us be aware of our surroundings, such as a focus on the changing seasons and being aware of the colors and textures around us. In addition to keeping our children joyfully occupied, Devana organized craft and engaged every one in conversations that helped us all as parents. While we learned to knit, we also learned the importance of being tactile with our children. While we sewed, we learned the importance of a nature walk. While we ate we learned the importance of nutrition. Devana only used words when absolutely necessary to make a point. More often, teachings occurred through the use of motion, music and art (hand made by Devana). Her voice was only a backdrop for the larger lesson. Attention to detail was evident in every session.
